Outreach Night

Service Opportunities:

This scatter week we have the opportunity to be out in our community! Here are three ways you can get involved in our outward-focus opportunities:

1) Low-income apartment outreach

This Thursday the 18th at 6:30pm we will be meeting along with the Jackson School Road Community Group to distribute laundry detergent to the residents. Bring your own dinner or come having already eaten. Instructions will be given while people eat then we will get up and go around in groups. Kids are welcome, having them along is a good way to get people to open up and talk and interact.

Come to 4655 SW 142nd Ave, Beaverton OR, apartment 193 at 6:30 pm. The lady heading this up is named Kelly Nelson. Her number is 503-312-9305 in case you have trouble finding the building. Her building has an orange side if you have trouble seeing the street number. Plan on parking nearby but not in the complex.


2) Help buy laundry detergent to be distributed

If you want to be involved but can't make the event, want to do both, or feel led either way, you can contribute financially to help purchase the laundry detergent we will be distributing. The Jackson School group leaders, the Colemans, purchased $406 worth of detergent to hand out. They have collected $210 from their group. If you want to contribute money towards the detergent you can give it to the Haleys and we will collect our group's contribution and get it to the Colemans.


3) Volunteer at the Compassion Clinic

This opportunity comes to us from our own Dardie! It's her passion and labor of love. She says they can always use hands, always need more help. This opportunity is to serve at a clinic either in set up the day before, helping during the clinic, or helping with clean up. So to that end, there are three times you could volunteer:

Set Up: Friday October 19th at 3:30pm until set up is finished at Tualatin Elementary, usually around 5:30 or so. Pizza is usually provided for those that help set up.

Clinic: Saturday October 20th - volunteers arrive around 7 or 8 in the morning. Clinic goes until around 2:30pm - 3pm. At Tualatin Elementary.

Tear-Down: Saturday October 20th from around 2:30 or 3pm until cleaned up. At Tualatin Elementary.
